Book Scholarship – Immediate Access Support

At the First Scholars Office, we understand that the start of the semester can bring unexpected financial strain. Course materials are essential for academic success, yet the cost of Immediate Access fees can create barriers for students already navigating college without generational financial support.

The First Scholars Book Scholarship helps offset the cost of Immediate Access fees, ensuring first-generation and income-eligible students have the materials they need from the first day of class.

Priority Consideration

Priority is given to students enrolled in Pathways to Success, recognizing their commitment to academic growth and holistic student success. Funding may also be available to other first-generation or income-eligible students based on demonstrated need and available resources.

Why This Matters

Immediate Access programs provide textbooks and course materials at the beginning of the semester, but access is only helpful if it is affordable. This scholarship ensures students can fully participate in their coursework without delaying access or facing additional financial stress.

By removing this barrier, we support:

  • Academic preparedness from day one
  • Increased persistence and student success
